on social media

Many view the library as a storehouse of information. While this was the primary definition of the library in the past, libraries have had to expand that definition in our modern digital age. This all encompassing definition is at the heart of the Library 2.0 psychology. Although libraries have embraced social media, they have yet to use it to its maximum effectiveness. It is essential that the modern library adopt new emerging technologies, such as social media, to remain relevant in the ever changing global society.  If libraries will use these technologies as tools of engagement, rather than a digital bulletin board, they will be more able to extend their reach beyond the walls of the library.
