CORY CASTOE
on justification of programming
There are many benefits to hosting this event at the library. First, we expect a minimum of 300 attendees, not including the parents and guardians of children attending this event. Similar youth centered events that have been hosted in the library over the last 5 years have drawn many more than this, so we feel that 300 is a conservative estimate.
Furthermore, this event can be the catalyst for future programming, such as Superhero Story Hour, Comic and manga book clubs, art and writing classes as they pertain to sequential art, and if this event is successful, making it an annual occurrence.
However, the paramount benefit of the event will be creating stronger community engagement among all residents, but especially the youth of our community.
